The Web is surely filled with many weird and wonderful things. This is another: Grouphug.

This novel concept is a website that has been around since 2003 and creates the opportunity for absolutely anybody to post a "confession" for the world to read. Everything is completely anonymous and there are several safe guards to ensure that the identity of a poster is never discovered.

In the words of the organisers:

\con*fess"\, v. i. 1. to make confession; to disclose sins or faults, or the state of the conscience.

the idea is for anyone to anonymously confess to anything. it actually feels kind of good to know that someone will read it.

this is completely confidential. no information about you or your computer is stored. in fact, we only collect the text you type, the date, and a random number.

This really is an interesting concept - take the time and make a visit. You will either be completely disgusted with the site (or the world?) or find it oddly comforting... maybe it is just the thought that you are OK... or that there is surely something to be thankful for. You might even get a sense of relief from putting one of your deepest, darkest secrets out there for anyone to read.
